Oh the joy of it

Totally unrelated to Canadian politics and in a more pleasant vein was a long email I received today from a friend who exited the Bay Street rat race, in December, and has settled down to a winter of relaxation and rejuvenation in Mexico. Reading his message, I could feel the stress leaving his body and recalled how I felt the same way when I took early retirement. The questions we get from those who can’t imagine themselves with the luxury of early retirement – what do you do all day? etc. – are easily answered. “Nothing we don’t want to do.” And we appreciate how fortunate we are. Here’s to “freedom 52” (or less for a lucky few)!
