Interesting if not particularly significant
The Hon Elinor Caplan, former MP for Thornhill, former Ontario MPP and cabinet minister in the governments of David Peterson and Jean Chretien, has endorsed Michael Ignatieff in her capacity as an ex-officio delegate to the leadership convention. This may not offset the loss of current Thornhill MP, Susan Kadis, who resigned as GTA c-chair of the Ignatieff campaign over matters related to Israel and its neighbours. It does suggest that the Ignatieff supporters in the Thornhill delegation in Montreal may not all follow Kadis to Bob Rae's camp. It also suggests an absence of solidarity in the Thornhill Jewish community's allegiance.
