this is going to be fun

If The Globe and Mail is correct, Toronto Mayor Miller will appear with Ontario Premier McGuinty at an announcement about public transit funding (details to be revealed). The fun thing is that the venue for the announcement is the Veolia Transport garage where the independent contractor who operates the Viva express bus system for York Region Transit is based. Viva stands for just about everything Miller, the Toronto Transit Commission and their union cronies oppose. Viva is a contracted service, it is automated (tickets/passes sold by vending machine), has had GPS-based next-bus tracking since it opened, it’s vehicles are clean, quiet and comfortable and the operators are friendly and polite. It has been enormously popular with riders. Viva implementation was on-time and on-budget and the service operates within its budget. I hope Miller pays attention when he visits York Region today. Will he bring little Adam along?
