So the PM, having been forced by Michael Ignatieff and the Liberal Party to deliver a report card on the success of the government's measures to fight the recession, will get his digs in by delivering that report card in Saint John, thousands of kilometres from the House of Commons and where he should be held to account. Think of how he would have howled if Jean Chrétien had pulled such a stunt.

This is just such a insult to Parliament and MPs it is difficult to imagine what he is thinking - unless he wants to so enrage all the opposition parties that, provoked, they unite and defeat his government when the Liberal's Opposition Day comes up.

As for any sense of making Parliament work, which Canadians seem to want, it is utter madness.
