...you remember exactly where you were and who you were with and what you were doing on Dec 13, 1979 when the last Canadian government to be defeated on a motion of non-confidence was booted by the House of Commons.

Not that it helped much, but at least Joe Clark's government fell when it failed to pass the budget test. This one is unprecedented. Never before has a government in any country following the system of British parliamentary democracy been convicted of contempt of the people's house.

That is what today and this defeat are about.
