It was pleasantly surprising to see York University is a sponsor of the 2006 Pride festival in Toronto. The University ofToronto has had a strong unoffical presence for many years, but the York contingent could have left people thinking lesbian and gays live donwtown and go to UofT. So the York as sponsor logo in the official Pride guide does matter if it helps prospective and current York students (and staff and faculty) that they are officially welcome at York.
