In its lead editorial today, The Globe and Mail kindly refers to Prime Minister Dion building his team. There is nothing like the power of positive thinking, but does no one proof read the editorials? I re-read the paragraph to see if this was supposed to be fantasy - it doesn’t seem like it.
“When Paul Martin unveiled his first cabinet in December of 2003, Stéphane Dion was not in it. Mr. Dion might have been one of the Liberals' most successful ministers, but in part because he had shown loyalty to former prime minister Jean Chrétien he was banished to the backbenches. To his credit, Prime Minister Dion has not repeated the mistakes of Mr. Martin, whose first acts as Liberal leader were to punish opponents in the party, perpetuating internecine fighting and contributing to his eventual political failure.” - The Globe and Mail, editorial 2006 12 20
Then I concluded it was an error in the early edition printing delivered here in Thornhill but it hasn’t been corrected on the website as of this posting.
With the generally positive media coverage surrounding Dion’s announcement of his “dream team” and their rolls yesterday, this editorial slips icing on the cake.
