Browsing a favourite photoblog today, daily does of imagery, I learned of a technique to match photographs with satellite GPS information and plot the photo location to Google Maps or something similar. It’s interesting information to add to a photo’s metadata, but the technique described is way to time consuming for most photographers who are still mastering point and shoot digital cameras. How long, though, before GPS is built into a camera and every photo is coded? Anyone will to bet on more than a year? Or maybe it already is available and I am just another Luddite.
