pact with the separatists?

NDP leader Jack Layton and Bloc Québecois leader Gilles Duceppe seem in desperate need of a strategy to prop-up the Harper government. Their fear, that a resurgence in support will embolden Liberals leading to an autumn election in which both the NDP and the Bloc would lose ground, may be well founded.

Reports that the Bloc is seeking an alliance with the CPC seem a bit farfetched, however. Harper may be looking at Freedom-50 but he can hardly use an “alliance with the separatists” to stave off defeat. Though the very idea is the best prophylaxis for CPC negative advertising. I hope Ducette gets his share of airtime even in the midst of the Liberal annual meeting and leadership convention.
