an end, for now, to complaints about attack ads

It looks like we won't be seeing complaints about the Conservative government's attack ads in the coming weeks. Is it the "new management" in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition who have decided it's time for a change in tactics, or is it just that the Liberal Party's financial situation has improved to the point where such advertising (albeit, low budget) is affordable.

I'm uncomfortable with the inflammatory "in secret" language but it's not out-of-line considering the false "just visiting" allegations levelled at Michael Ignatieff last year. No surprise either, that the minions, who have to work weekends in the PMO, resorted to slandering the Liberal Leader again yesterday with a release that called the new advertising campaign an attack on Canada's soldiers. Hard for them to understand, I suppose, that questioning Defence Minister Peter's McKay's self-serving version of what he conveniently remembers learning, when, is not the same thing as attacking the troops.

We can expect some nasty exchanges until all Canadians turn their attention to the Olympics next month.
