Tom Flanagan, from the University of Calgary, has a reputation for being one of Stephen Harper's leading apologists. He is part of the "Calgary School" of economists who were instrumental in shaping the PM's political philosophy and influencing the formation of the Reform Party and Canadian Alliance before they morphed into the present Conservative Party. The PM brought Flanagan to Ottawa in the early days of his first government to advise on policy and strategy.
Yesterday, Flanagan stated on CBC New Network that everyone knows Harper prorogued Parliament to avoid answering questions about Afghanistan.1 Having said that, Flanagan jibed that he won't be considered a "Harper stooge" any longer.
