first phone call of the 2011 election campaign

The Thornhill Conservative candidate's campaign called this afternoon to "confirm (my) support" for the upcoming election"! That would be the one 11 months from now. Many things can change between now and then - a day can be a lifetime in politics, the saying goes - but I guess conservatives think voters already have their minds made up. I'll assume, if I'd told the canvasser to count me in, the next words would be a request for cash. Someone has to pay for an 11 month campaign, but it won't be me.
