Is there really no limit to how low the Harper government will go? For months the prime minister and Conservative Party have refused any and all comment on the reasons MP Helena Guergis was fired from Cabinet and the CPC. Now, in the midst of a campaign in which Ms Guergis is running as an independent, with a Conservative the main opponent, leaks surface that the PMO had information that she was involved in fraud and prostitution and that she and her husband, former MP Rahim Jaffer were doing cocaine. The timing of the leak, we are supposed to believe, is a coincidence. We do believe the CPC will do anything to avoid giving up a southern Ontario seat.
In the usual police way, all the RCMP will say is it investigated and found no evidence to warrant criminal code charges.
