double standards

Torontonians were left to ponder, yesterday, where Mayor Ford would find $4.0 billion to complete the Sheppard subway line. The mayor promised to reveal all in due course but offered no more details in terms of sources or timelines.

One thing that was clear was the double standard for maintenance and cleanliness at the TTC. Witness the spotless subway barn and new Bombardier trains where the mayor and Premier McGuinty made the announcement. The trains were supposed to me in revenue service months ago but so far have only seen use as backdrops for photo-ops. And how passengers would like to see a subway station as spotless as this maintenance facility. What's good enough for the passengers would appear to be not good enough for the folks who work at the TTC.
